Strike Up the Band!
Barry Gray's unforgettable music was an intrinsic part of the Anderson series, from Twizzle , through Torchy the Battery Boy, Four Feather Falls (for which he created the series concept as well), Supercar, Fireball XL5, Stingray, Thunderbirds (the series and both feature films), Captain Scarlet, Joe 90, The Secret Service, Doppelganger, UFO, and Space: 1999.
2008 is the one-hundredth anniversary of Barry's birth, and to commemorate the centenary, FAB Gear has created an exclusive lapel pin. Based on Barry Gray's own personal letterhead design, the pin measures 2 inches long and is created in brushed pewter with a cloisonne inlay.
For each of the limited (less than 300 pieces were made) pins sold, we'll make a donation to the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund, a cause that was important to the composer. For more information about the Fund, please visit their website at

More celebration of Barry Gray and his work is afoot; on November 8th, the Philharmonia Orchestra will perform many of Barry's compositions live at the Royal Festival Hall on London's South Bank at Music From The 21st Century: The Barry Gray Centenary Concert. The evening will be hosted by actor Brian Blessed and feature many special guests, including Gerry Anderson. The concert also benefits the Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund.
