  1. A Great Desk Sized Replica

    Posted by Dep1701 on 2nd Jun 2025

This is an updated re-release of the model Corgi produced for their Star Trek “40th Anniversary” line in 2006. It’s basically the same model, but upgrades include more accurate and in scale graphics ( like the registry font ) and a better, sturdier stand with a mounting post less likely to break off inside the model, like the previous version).

The model is 98% diecast metal with minor plastic detail parts ( the front of the engineering hull with the deflector dish, the top and bottom domes on the saucer and the front and back domes on the warp engines ). It has a good solid heft and Corgi made the great decision to make the support pylons in metal, so they are unlikely to droop or sag over time.

100% screen accurate? No, but it makes a very nice and durable display on a desk or shelf.

  2. Nice Updating Of The Original Release

Posted by Unknown on 21st May 2025

This is a reissue of the Corgi “40th Anniversary” Original Series Enterprise, released 20 years ago, but with a couple of upgrades. Just like the first issue, this model is about 98% diecast metal with a few minor plastic parts. Fortunately the warp engines and support struts are metal, so they are unlikely to sag over time.

The upgrades on this re-release include more accurate markings like the font of the registry. While the blue strip on the front of the saucer pylon is a bit intense, it is based on the accent on the filming model. The provided stand has also been redesigned with a sturdier mounting post than the flimsy first release ( that tended to snap off inside the model without much provocation).

Not 100% accurate, but a very nice, durable desk sized display model.
