The Lotus Esprit certainly did not lack originality: designed by Giugiaro who thought for her a completely flat windshield ("so much is transparent", he said at the time of its presentation in 1975), the English car went down in history for its original line and for his rather flashy style. Those who thought that the Porsche 911 was too "trivial" could choose the Esprit that stood as its natural competitor. It was equipped with various engines and produced in three series until 1987. Sadly famous for its poor assembly quality, the Esprit also gained stardom for being the James Bond 007 car in 1977 and again in 1983.
