A Breakaway Success

When Sixteen 12 took up the cudgel of Product Enterprises/Aoshima with the Die Cast 1/72 Space 1999 line, it was already something of a breakthrough. The increasingly rare older replicas were trading for silly money, where you could find them. Moreover, Sixteen 12 had quite a high bar to reach.

However, this first release has reached, and breached all the bars I set, based on my old PE models. Time and better machining has meant not only is this Breakaway Eagle compatible with all the old PE pods, but its machining is cleaner, it's painting and trim is finer, and weathering, where applied is less of the 'random airbrushing', and more nuanced.
I'm absolutely happy with this Eagle, and with Fab Gear's service to me in this regard.
